Notes

  • Pattern is worked in continuous rounds, so you do not slip stitch or chain 1 at the end of each round. 
  • Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round.
  • Keep your stitches tight throughout your project so that the stuffing does not show through. Depending on your tension, you can also try a smaller hook size.
  • Bulky (chenille or blanket) yarn can be a little tricky if you have not used it much before. When creating your magic ring, pull gently. Try gently pulling or wiggling your yarn tail to close. You can also use the chain 2 method if preferred.
  • Safety eyes are not recommended for children under the age of 3.

 


Body

Round 1: sc 6 in a mr [6]
Round 2: (inc)x6 [12]
Round 3: (sc 1, inc)x6 [18]
Round 4: (sc 2, inc)x6 [24]
Rounds 5-10 (6 rnds): sc around [24 / 144 total]
Add a stitch marker to the back loop of the first stitch of round 11.

Round 11: In FLO, (slst, sc, dc inc, sc, slst)x4, slst, sc, dc inc, sc [29]
Round 12: (slst, sc, hdc inc, hdc inc, sc, slst)x4, slst, sc, hdc inc, hdc inc, sc [39]

FO and weave in tail.

Attach eyes between rnds 6-7 (or rnds 8-9 depending on preference), about 5 stitches apart.

 

Round 13: In BLO from rnd 11, attach yarn and (sc 2, dec)x6 [18]

Begin stuffing the body.

Round 14: (sc 1, dec)x6 [12]
Round 15: (dec)x6 [6]

Finish stuffing the body, being sure not to overstuff so that your ghosty will be able to stand.

FO and weave in tail. 


 

 

Cat Mod

Ears (x2)

Round 1: sc 3 in mr [3]

Round 2: (inc)x3 [6]

Round 3: (sc 1, inc)x3 [9]

FO and do not stuff. Fold the ear in half and sew to Ghosty at rnds 3-6.

Nose

In contrasting colour, sew one stitch horizontally between the eyes.

 

 

 

Dog Mod

Ears (x2)
Round 1: sc 3 in mr [3]
Round 2: (inc)x3 [6]
Round 3: (sc 1, inc)x3 [9]
Round 4+: continue to sc around until the ear is at your desired length. for the dog in the picture, I crocheted rounds 4-9.

FO and do not stuff. Fold the ear in half and sew to Ghosty at rnd 3.

Muzzle

Round 1: sc 6 in mr [6]
Round 2: (sc 2, inc)x2 [8]

FO and sew between the eyes. Add nose detail if desired.

 

 

 

Bow

Row 1: ch 6 [6]
Row 2: Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, hdc, sc, slst, sc, hdc. slst.
Row 3: hdc, sc, slst, sc, hdc. ch 1 and turn.
 
FO and leave a long tail. Bring tail to middle of the bow and wrap around 3 times and cinch tight. Sew in ends. If desired, sew to ghosty’s head.
